The word "evangelism" comes from the Greek euaggelion which means "good news." As Christians we are bearers of tremendous good news that is good news not just for us but for all the world. "Jesus Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!" Evangelism, therefore, refers to the mission of the church--to spread the good news of Jesus to all the world. Evangelism takes many forms including sharing your faith with a friend or neighbor, inviting someone to worship or Christian education classes, gathering Christians together for fellowship that witnesses that good news alive, serving others, making others aware of our ministry and existance, and much more. While we have an Evangelism team at Redeemer, they are far from the only group that promotes evangelism within and outside the church walls. Evangelism is a central part of each of our ministries, and something so important we always need to work at growing in.
